Match Single Characters Not Specified, Regular Expression Lesson 2020, freeCodeCamp Tutorial

Lesson Summary

In this video lesson of freeCodeCamps Regex course we learn something different. In the past lessons we have matched specific characters through our regular expression, but in this lesson, we learn how to specify characters we want to exclude. If one wants to exclude certain characters from our matches, we are able to perform this functionality through the use of the caret character. Utilizing the caret character allows us to choose specific characters we would like to not include when searching for a pattern. In today's lesson, learning to master this regex syntax will add to the complexity of patterns we are able to find and match more specifically.
