In this Learn Lua lesson we look at Introduction to Lua, Codecademy Learn Lua Course, Lua Programming for Beginners, Programming Basics. This is the first lesson on our journey to learn the basics of the Lua programming language. This intro to Lua teaches us some of the history of the Lua programming language. We learn that it originally began in Brazil, when their was a trade barrier on computer software and hardware and programmers there had to create their own programming language. We learn that much of its inspiration comes from the languages DEL (data-entry language) as well as SOL (simple object language). We also read some of what we learned in the previous course review video, which is the games and apps that are built on Lua, such as Roblox, World of Warcraft, Angry Birds, Adobe, Venmo and more! If you are a beginner in programming, this Lua course is perfect for you.
